20,000,000 Mega Millions jackpot won in NY

A single ticket sold in NY matched all 6 numbers in Tuesday night's Mega Millions lotto drawing, worth approximately 20,000,000, lottery officials said. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, January 17th, 2023 were 02, 12, 18, 24, 39 with Mega Ball number 18 and Megaplier X3. The jackpot winner will now have to determine to either take the 30 annual payments with yearly payment approximately of $769,230.77 before taxes, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $10.7 million before Uncle Sam's share is extracted. The grand prize winner is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the opportunity to select the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
