Nobody won the jackpot. Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $141 million Tuesday, January 28th, 2020

The multi-state Mega Millions lottery grand prize has rolled up to an estimated $141 million dollars after there was no grand prize winner in Friday's drawing. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $97.1 million. The numbers from Friday, January 24th, 2020 drawing were 03-04-18-23-38 and the Mega Ball was 24, Megaplier was 4. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 654 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
Though the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. A total of 9 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. These included 9 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other winners Friday evening included 443 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 922 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 1,132,572 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, January 24th, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The overall odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This causes different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other lotteries. By way of example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
