Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $113 million; One second prize ticket sold

With no winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions lottery grand prize is going to be worth an estimated $113 million (cash option $90.3 million) the next time the multistate lottery is played on Tuesday. The amount rolled over because no one matched all 6 numbers to win the $107 million grand prize Friday night. The numbers from Friday, March 27th, 2020 drawing were 03-25-28-50-60 and the Mega Ball was 01, Megaplier was 4.
Although there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single ticket that matched the first 5 lotto numbers and won the second prize. The one lucky ticket(s) purchased in , each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 6 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional winners Friday evening included 214 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 550 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were 791,108 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 27th, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. About 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Compared with other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 lotteries. For instance, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
