Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $99 million Friday, May 13th, 2022; Two players matched the first 5 numbers

The lottery official announced that the Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, Mega Millions drawing resulted in a roll-over, creating an $99 million grand prize for the next drawing Friday. The cash value stands at a projected $57 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 drawing were 15-19-20-61-70 and the Mega Ball was 06, Megaplier was 3.
While there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were two lucky players that matched the first five numbers and won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 9 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 219 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 650 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine different ways to win, there were 1,053,798 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other lotteries. For example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
