No jackpot ticket sold last night. Mega Millions jackpot increases to $313 million Tuesday, May 26th, 2020

There has been another carry over in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions lottery - to $313 million. The cash value will be an estimated $249.8 million. The jackpot grew because no one hit all six winning numbers from Friday night's $298 million drawing. The winning numbers from Friday night, May 22nd, 2020 were 08-10-20-44-46 and the Mega Ball was 18, Megaplier was 4. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 688 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.One lucky winner from Maryland walked away with $189 million grand prize in Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 drawing.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 22 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. These included 22 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 504 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 1277 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 prize levels, there were a total of 1,667,282 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, May 22nd, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump sum cash payout option instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. As an example, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
