No one matched all six numbers. Big Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

There was no ticket sold matched all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number in the latest multi-state Mega Millions lottery draw, and the projected jackpot for Friday's drawing will roll up to 355,000,000, lottery officials announced. The cash value stands at a projected $183.6 million. The numbers from Tuesday night, September 27th, 2022 were 08, 14, 24, 43, 51 with Mega Ball 09 and Megaplier 3.
Though the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. 12 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. These included 12 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 404 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 1198 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
With nine prize levels, there were 1,720,956 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, September 27th, 2022 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Around 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions grand prize are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
Contrary to other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set value. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. For instance, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
