Saturday's Powerball jackpot goes to $277 million; 1 player won the second prize

The jackpot in America's favorite Powerball lottery is on the move. Because no player correctly matched all six winning numbers in Wednesday's drawing, the jackpot will rise to $277 million! The cash option will be an estimated $188.4 million. The numbers from Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 drawing were 02-04-07-43-56 and Powerball was 22. The Powerball grand prize has been rolling over for nineteen draws since Wednesday, November 6th, 2019. A single lucky player from California won the $150.00 million top prize in Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 drawing.
Though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a sole second prize winner from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in West Virginia will collect $1,000,000 cash.
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 24 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 432 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 99 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! There were 1340 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 295 additional players not only matched 3+1, but additionally purchased the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 802,669 tickets across U.S. won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 drawing.
