No ticket matched all 6 numbers. Powerball jackpot increases to $25 million Saturday, September 26th, 2020

With no winner in the last draw, the Powerball jackpot is going to be worth an estimated $25 million (cash value $20 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Saturday. The amount carried over because no one matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $22 million grand prize Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 drawing were 08-17-49-52-59 and Powerball number was 01. The Powerball grand prize has been rolling over for 64 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. A single lucky winner from Michigan won the $70.00 million grand prize in Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 drawing.
Though there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. 4 third prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. These included 3 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000.
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 159 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 65 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but also bought the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 480 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $100. 127 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 341,059 tickets nationwide won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 drawing.
Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Powerball lottery uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The odds of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners may choose one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
