One single Powerball winning lottery ticket worth $25 million was sold in Arkansas

A single lucky ticket in Arkansas matched all 6 numbers Saturday and walked away with the $25 million jackpot. The winning numbers from Saturday night, January 2nd, 2010 were 03-07-23-27-42 with Power Ball number 37. The jackpot winner will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $15.8 million before Uncle Sam's share is extracted. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to select the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner does not make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Besides the grand prize won on Saturday, a lot more people walked away with huge prizes. There were six lucky players that matched all five lotto numbers and won the second prize. The 1 ticket(s) in Missouri matched the first five numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $2,000,000 cash win! This is part of the Powerball game feature that guarantees a certain multiplier on all match 5 white ball winners that also have the Power Play option pushing the second prize to 2 million dollar cash. 5 other lucky ticket(s) sold in Arizona(1), Indiana(1), North Carolina(1), New Mexico(1) and Wisconsin(1), each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers!
Other prizes won Saturday night included 36 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 16 additional players not only matched 4+1, but additionally bought the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
