The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $330 million

There were no tickets sold with all 6 winning numbers in the latest multi-state Mega Millions game draw, and the projected grand prize for Tuesday's drawing will climb to $330 million, according to lottery officials. The cash option will be $252.8 million. The numbers from Friday night, December 18th, 2020 were 07, 15, 25, 51, 60 with Mega Ball 05 and Megaplier 3.
Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. A total of 19 lucky players won the third prize. Among them, 19 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Other prizes won Friday evening included 475 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 1441 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With nine prize levels, there were 1,906,954 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, December 18th, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and pick 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. The odds of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Compared with other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This causes different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other 43 Mega Millions states. As an example, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
