Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $322,000,000; Two tickets won the second prize

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Tuesday, when Mega Millions lottery has $322,000,000 on the line. The cash value will be a projected $$174.3 million. Mega Millions' grand prize rose because no player matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number drawn Friday night. The winning numbers from Friday night, March 24th, 2023 were 14-17-33-42-66 with Mega Ball number 15 and Megaplier 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 989 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
While there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were two 2nd prize winners from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The two lucky ticket(s) bought in CA,TX, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 17 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional winners Friday evening included 367 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. There were 944 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
Unlike other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set value. This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 Mega Millions states. For example, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
