The grand prize in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $97 million. The cash option stands at an estimated $75.1 million up for grab. The prize amount was rolled over because no one hit all six numbers in Tuesday's $86 million drawing. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is Friday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 drawing were 46, 54, 57, 58, 66 and the Mega Ball was 10, Megaplier was 3. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 731 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.One lucky winner from Maryland walked away with $189 million grand prize in Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 drawing.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. 15 third prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. These included 15 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other prizes won Tuesday night included 190 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 567 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 prize tiers, there were 1,061,240 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game offered in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record highest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can select one lump sum cash payout instead.
Not like other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed amount. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. One example is, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
