Massive Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Tuesday, when Mega Millions game has 231,000,000 on the line. The cash option will be a projected $125.8 million. Mega Millions' jackpot increased because no player hit all six winning numbers drawn Friday night. The numbers drawn Friday night, September 9th, 2022 were 16-21-54-55-69 with Mega Ball 22 and Megaplier x2. Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. It holds the record highest jackpot in North American lottery history. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 70 then choose a Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. Not like other Mega Millions participants, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This leads to different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. As an example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
