Massive Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

The jackpot for Friday Mega Millions rolled up to $825,000,000 (cash option $$382.2 million) after no player hit all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number Tuesday night. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, December 17th, 2024 were 56-66-67-68-69 with Mega Ball number 18 and Megaplier 4. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 28 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were 4 2nd prize winners from Tuesday night's drawing, matching the first five numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 4 lucky ticket(s) bought in CA(2),LA,OK, each won one million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Tuesday evening included 38 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 1249 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set value. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other lotteries.
