No jackpot winning ticket sold last night. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot moves to $113,000,000

The jackpot in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Because no player correctly hit all 5 white ball numbers and the Mega Millions number in Tuesday's drawing, the grand prize will move to a projected $113,000,000! The cash option stands at $$49.2 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 drawing were 04-14-35-49-62 with Mega Ball 06 and Megaplier x3.
Although the jackpot was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 7 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. Among them, 7 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 185 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 475 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were a total of 843,652 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states and D.C. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
Not like other Mega Millions participants, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are parimutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a fixed value. This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winners sold in California when compared to those sold in other jurisdictons. For instance, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
