The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $303,000,000

The Mega Millions lottery grand prize has jumped up to a projected $303,000,000 (cash value $$136.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Friday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over since no one hit all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number to take the $285,000,000 jackpot Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 drawing were 04, 20, 38, 56, 66 with Mega Ball 05 and Megaplier x. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 88 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. A total of 6 lucky winners won the third prize. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
In addition, 143 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 361 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 ways to win, there were 480,970 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions game is played in 43 states and D.C. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Approximately 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 70 then pick 1 Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
