Mega Millions jackpot breaks to $162,000,000; 2 second prize tickets sold

There were no Mega Millions lottery jackpot winners for Tuesday's $137,000,000 dollar drawing, so the jackpot will build to a projected $162,000,000 with the cash option of $$74.5 million Friday, July 5th, 2024. The winning numbers from Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024 drawing were 04, 08, 19, 31, 45 with Mega Ball 11 and Megaplier x4.
Though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were 2 lucky tickets correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 2 lucky ticket(s) bought in CA,TX, each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Also, 11 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 328 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. 987 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.

This results in different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other forty three Mega Millions states. As an example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
