Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot moves to $61 million; 2 players matched the first five numbers

Without a big winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has rolled over the jackpot to $61 million for Tuesday night's drawing. The cash option will be $42.7 million. No player matched all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win the $50 million grand prize Friday. The next Mega Millions drawing is going to be at 10:59 PM Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday, June 25th, 2021 drawing were 17-20-42-45-65 with Mega Ball 12 and Megaplier 4. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 802 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
Even though the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were 2 lucky players that matched the first five white ball numbers and won the second prize. The 2 lucky ticket(s) purchased in , each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Contrary to other Mega Millions states, all the 9 prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, rather than non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This leads to different prize amounts for equivalent winning tickets sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other Mega Millions states. One example is, the second Mega Millions prizes is a million dollar could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, CA state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
