Friday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $168 million; Two tickets matched the first 5 numbers

The Mega Millions game grand prize has been pumped up to $168 million (cash option $112.1 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Friday night. The grand prize amount has been carried over since no one matched all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number to take the $152 million jackpot Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday night, March 30th, 2021 were 11, 37, 47, 53, 56 with Mega Ball number 15 and Megaplier x3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 777 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There were two lucky players that matched all five numbers and won the 2nd prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Also, 15 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 314 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 911 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. can be played in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. As opposed to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize tiers of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, as opposed to non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This causes different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other forty three states. As an example, the second Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner over $1000,000 due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery doesn't offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
