There were no Mega Millions game jackpot winners for Friday's $178,000,000 dollar drawing, so the grand prize will climb to an estimated $195,000,000 with the cash value at a projected $$86.3 million Tuesday, May 5th, 2026. The numbers from Friday, May 1st, 2026 drawing were 16-21-27-41-61 and the Mega Ball was 24, Megaplier was .
While there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with big money. 4 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. Among them, 4 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
In addition, 122 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 374 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.

This causes different amounts of prize for equivalent winning tickets sold in California when compared to those sold in other 43 jurisdictons. As an example, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not offer Megaplier like other Mega Millions states.
