Mega Millions jackpot builds to $196,000,000 Tuesday night; 1 second prize ticket sold

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multi-state lottery game has been increased to $196,000,000. The cash option stands at an estimated $$89.1 million. The prize amount was rolled over since no one matched all 6 winning numbers in Friday's $181,000,000 drawing. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing is Tuesday night. The numbers from Friday night, November 3rd, 2023 were 15-32-38-47-65 and the Mega Ball was 12, Megaplier was 4.
Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was a single lucky player that correctly matched the first five numbers and won the second prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in FL will collect $1,000,000 cash each.
In addition, 10 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Friday night included 253 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. 682 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/70+1/25 system from which winning numbers are chosen. The chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
Contrary to other Mega Millions states, all the nine prize levels of California Mega Millions are pari-mutuel, instead of non-jackpot prize having a set amount. This causes different prize amounts for equivalent winners sold in the state of California when compared to those sold in other states. One example is, the 2nd Mega Millions prizes is $1,000,000 could pay the winner more than a million dollar due to the pari-mutuel payout system of California lottery. For the same reason, California state lottery does not have Megaplier like other Mega Millions participants.
