Powerball jackpot moves to $501,000,000; One player matched the first 5 numbers

The Powerball grand prize has jumped up to a projected $501,000,000 (cash value $$229.5 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Monday night. The jackpot amount has been rolled over since nobody matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $482,000,000 jackpot Saturday night. The winning numbers from Saturday, August 9th, 2025 drawing were 07-14-23-24-60 with Power Ball number 14. Nobody won the Powerball grand prize in the past 30 draws since Monday, June 2nd, 2025. A single lucky winner from CA walked away with $207,000,000 top prize in Saturday, May 31st, 2025 drawing.
Even though the jackpot was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There was only one second prize winner from Saturday night's Powerball drawing, matching all 5 lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in IL won 1 million dollar cash.
Additional prizes won Saturday evening included 28 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 9 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other prizes won Saturday night included 500 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 146 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! 1253 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 420 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to win a total win of $200 each.
With 9 different prize levels, the Saturday night's drawing generated 843,922 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the winnings but not jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
