A single player in Michigan walked away with $810,000,000 Powerball jackpot in Monday night's drawing

Somebody is celebrating in Michigan, and for good reason. A single ticket has won the jackpot from the latest Powerball lottery drawing. Lottery officials said the winning ticket from Monday night's drawing worth $810,000,000 was purchased in Michigan. The identity of the newest millionaire has not been determined, nor has the location of the ticket purchase. The winning numbers from Monday, January 1st, 2024 drawing were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49 with Power Ball number 01. The winner can take a cash option worth $408.9 million before taxes, or decide to receive 29-year, 30-installment annuity option. The grand prize winner is highly suggested to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Along with the grand prize won on Monday, more players walked away with huge pile of cash. There were 6 lucky tickets correctly matched the first 5 numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 4 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in California(1), Connecticut(1), Florida(1) and Maryland(1) will collect $1 million cash. The other 2 second prize winner(s) from Florida(1) and Texas(1) also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other prizes won Monday night included 42 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 7 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 1,840,011 tickets across the nation won a total of $0 prizes in the Monday, January 1st, 2024 drawing.
