Saturday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $457,000,000; 1 player matched the first 5 numbers

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize went to $457,000,000 (cash value $$205 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $434,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers from Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 drawing were 12, 29, 37, 43, 55 and Powerball was 18. The Powerball jackpot has been rolling over for 29 draws since Monday, May 4th, 2026. 2 lucky winners from FL and TX won the jackpot in Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 drawing and shared $20,000,000.
While there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There was a sole second prize winner from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in TX won $1 million cash.
Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 14 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! Also, 281 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 78 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Wednesday night included 639 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 197 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 511,306 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 69 and choose one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments. Winners can select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
