Saturday's Powerball jackpot jumps to $171,000,000; 1 player won the second prize

The Powerball lottery grand prize has been pumped up to $171,000,000 (cash value $$81.4 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Saturday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over since nobody hit all five white ball numbers plus the Powerball number to take the $154,000,000 grand prize Wednesday night. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, July 31st, 2024 were 23-34-37-50-58 and Powerball was 07.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge prizes. There was a sole 2nd prize winning ticket from Wednesday night's drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The one lucky ticket(s) bought in CA, each won $1 million cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 7 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash! Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 163 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 43 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, and also chose the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 449 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 147 additional players not just matched 3+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
