Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Wednesday, when Powerball has $101,000,000 on the line. The cash value will be an estimated $$45.7 million. Powerball's jackpot rose because nobody hit all six numbers drawn Monday night. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, June 16th, 2025 were 17-21-23-27-52 with Power Ball number 19. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past seven draws since Monday, June 2nd, 2025. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a $207,000,000 top prize.
While the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. 5 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. These included 3 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000.
Also, 203 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 74 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Monday night included 404 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Powerball and won $100. 137 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With 9 prize levels, the Monday night's drawing generated 260,770 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play option, which increases the prizes but not grand prize. The overall odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The chances of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
