Powerball jackpot goes to $56,000,000; One ticket matched the first 5 numbers

The grand prize in the multi-state Powerball drawing went to $56,000,000 for the Wednesday drawing. The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$27 million up for grab. None of the tickets sold for Monday's $44,000,000 drawing hit six winning numbers. The numbers from Monday night, June 17th, 2024 were 30, 48, 53, 58, 66 and Powerball was 09. The Powerball grand prize has been growing for 1238 draws since Wednesday, June 12th, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a 221,000,000 top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There was only one second prize winning ticket from Monday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first 5 numbers except the Powerball number. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in NJ, each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Monday evening included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 1 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! In addition, 111 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. can be played in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game.
