Powerball jackpot increases to $364,000,000 Saturday, October 12th, 2024; 2 second prize tickets sold

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize increased to $364,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$179 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winning tickets in the $336,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Wednesday night, October 9th, 2024 were 25, 32, 43, 53, 66 and Powerball was 10. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 22 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a $44,000,000 top prize.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Wednesday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There were 2 second prize winning tickets from Wednesday night's drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in CA(1) and PA(1) won 1 million dollar cash.
Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 7 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 5 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 259 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 68 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 648 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 171 additional players not just matched 3+1, and also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
With 9 different prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing generated 547,637 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:59 PM Pacific Time. The minimum Powerball jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments in 29 years. Winners can select one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
