Saturday's Powerball jackpot jumps to $173,000,000; 1 second prize ticket sold

With no winner in the last drawing, the Powerball jackpot is going to be worth $173,000,000 (cash value $$75 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Saturday. The amount rolled over because no one matched all six numbers to win the $146,000,000 grand prize Wednesday night. The numbers from Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 drawing were 03, 10, 29, 58, 64 and Powerball was 14.
Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There was only one lucky ticket matched the first 5 lotto numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA won $1,000,000 cash.
Also, 5 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. 3 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! Also, 222 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 82 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 581 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 180 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also bought the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With 9 prize levels, there were 422,098 tickets nationwide won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
